The research interests of Dr. Ruitao Lv are focused on advanced carbon materials, especially the defect engineering, surface chemistry of carbon-based nanostructures and their applications in energy conversion/storage and efficient sensing. In particular, Dr. Lv and co-workers achieve some exciting progress on the atomic scale visualization of doping configurations in carbon lattices. Much enhanced Raman scattering effect is unveiled based on 2D layered materials. In addition, ultrasensitive molecular and acoustic sensing properties are achieved with as-synthesized 2D layered materials. By engineering the defects in layered materials, highly efficient electrocatalysis and electrochemical energy storage are achieved. Up to now, Dr. Ruitao Lv has published more than 150 peer-reviewed journal papers with H-index of 38 (Web of Science) and 46 (Google Scholar).
